 Allan J. Chappelle
J.D., LLM Taxation, IAR
President/Principal/Senior Consultant/Investment Advisory Representative
Allan J. Chappelle is a tax lawyer who was a shareholder of one of the largest law firms in the state of Alabama, Sirote & Permutt, P.C., before starting Chappelle Consulting Group, (CCG). While in the active practice of law Allan noticed a significant shift to flexible benefits within the employee benefit community. He designed some of the earliest flexible benefit plans within the State of Alabama and implemented a number of 401(k) plans as well. The gap that he noticed in the market place, however, was that no one firm could provide all of the services that were needed to properly implement and maintain these programs.
As a lecturer at numerous tax and legal seminars, Allan became known as a dynamic public speaker. His gift for taking complex subject and making it understandable and fun is one of the cornerstones of the service provided by CCG. His unparalleled expertise in all the nuances of the plan design with his ongoing commitment to keep his plans "state of the art" has kept CCG. on the leading edge for many years. As a registered investment advisor, Allan offers periodic review of the investments in each plan to assist each client with their fiduciary responsibility to maintain a prudent array of investment options at a reasonable cost. Finally, a number of highly trained accounting personnel has been assembled to deliver one of the most "high touch" plan administration services in the industry. Allan's goal is to assemble a service team that provides the highest caliber of professional expertise along with impeccable integrity and a "client is always right" attitude.
Allan received a B.S. Degree from the University of Alabama School of Commerce where he received the Alabama Bankers Award as the Outstanding Finance Student and was chosen for Beta Gama Sigma, Jasons Men's Honorary and Omicron Delta Kappa. He then received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Alabama School of Law where he made Order of the Coif. His education was completed at New York University School of Law where he received a Masters in Taxation Law.
He is a former Chairman of the Cafeteria Plan Administrators Conference sponsored by the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation and now serves as a member of the board of directors of the ECFC. Allan is a frequent and noted speaker on qualified retirement plans and cafeteria plans throughout this country.
